Hi, everybody!

I'm new to this community, and I have to say this is the most brillant thing I have ever heard of...speaking of which:



Hyperbole/Understatement:

"You are more beautiful than the heavens, softer than a feather, lovely as a rosebud," gushed Hyperbole.

"You're not bad yourself," said Understatement.

"Will you make me the happiest figure of speech since the dawn of history and be mine?" asked Hyperbole.

"Eh, why not?" replied Understatement.

"Do you not share my infinite joy at our union? Why don't you love me as I love you, to the depths of the ocean, to the end of time?"

"I like you fine."

"You're lying! I can see it in your sentence structure! Oh, you have made me more miserable than a man being burned at the stake!" With that, Hyperbole, broke down into wracking sobs.

Clearly moved...well, at least unsettled, Understatment said, "No, I do like you. I maybe even...love you." He winced at his own maudlin display of emotion.

"Oh, thank you! I love you too, to the depths of the ocea--"

Understatement was correct in assuming that a kiss would temporarily shut Hyperbole up. Plus, it wasn't all that bad to be kissing him.
